Who I am
I am a Glasgow based psychodynamic counsellor specialising in anxiety, depression, trauma and LGBTQI+ issues. I was born in Pakistan and moved to London at a young age. I have lived in different parts of the UK since then. My diverse life experiences have allowed me to grow and develop as an individual.
I completed a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Durham, a Masters in Psychology from Edinburgh University and have a Diploma in Counselling from Robert Gordon University. I have worked in Wellbeing Scotland with clients suffering from severe trauma issues, including those dealing with chronic anxiety, domestic abuse, and bereavement. Additionally, I have given counselling to a diverse range of clients during my time at LGBT Health and Wellbeing. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical practices and guidelines.
I am fascinated by the notion of people finding the creative and authentic expression of their identities. I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients make sense of how past events may be impacting their present situation. I work with the inner child, an aspect of you which may have been wounded in the past. I am also open to using a variety of other techniques to aid this process. My sessions are warm and supportive. I provide an empathetic environment where you will be able to tap into your emotions.
Therapy is a courageous process and I aid my clients as they come to terms with the truth and their inner power. Please get in touch if you would like to have an initial consultation.
